Legal Help for the Unemployed
Some people think that losing a job is the worst thing that could ever happen. It's not. Losing a job and not getting unemployment compensation is worse.
Whether you lost your job in a mass layoff (actual termination) or were forced out of a position by a boss who harassed you and make your work life miserable (constructive termination), you should immediately apply for unemployment compensation through the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry.
If your application for unemployment benefits is denied, contact the attorneys of Vinsko & Associates, PC, as soon as possible. We may be able to help you obtain the benefits you deserve.
Our lawyers will review your case, explain your options and take the necessary actions to help you obtain all the unemployment compensation you are entitled by law to receive. We will determine if you are eligible to receive benefits and whether your former employer is trying to prevent you from obtaining them.
Steps in the Appeals Process
The unemployment compensation appeal process involves several steps. After your initial application is denied, we will appeal the denial to a referee or administrative law judge. At this hearing, we will argue the merits of your case. If this appeal is unsuccessful, we will appeal to the unemployment board of review, which will review the previous decision. If necessary and reasonable, we will appeal your case to the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania.
